Solange de Billy-Tremblay, a licensed Trustee since 1989, has been working in the insolvency field since 1984 first at the offices of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy in Toronto and Montreal, and then as a Trustee with several insolvency firms in Montreal. In 1997, she founded her own firm, de Billy-Tremblay & Associés Inc.
Mrs. de Billy-Tremblay has handled hundreds proposals and bankruptcy files for businesses and individuals facing financial difficulties and suggested alternative solutions when recourses under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act did not appear to be the best solution.
Solange de Billy-Tremblay received a joint M.B.A. degree from York University in Toronto and from Laval University in Quebec City after an undergraduate degree in Communication from Laval University.
She has been involved as a volunteer for the Canadian Association of Reorganisation and Insolvency Professionals (CARIP) notably by helping draft and review written exams for articling students and by sitting on the oral board for candidates to the Trustee licence. She has written articles and has been a lecturer in the insolvency field.
